DHAKA, Nov 28, 2023 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Bangladesh Betar senior programme presenter and former chief producer (theatre) Saiful Islam.

In a message of condolence, the minister recalled Saiful's outstanding contribution to the state owned media for long, saying Saiful will ever be remembered for his role during the Liberation War and post independence.

Dr Hasan, also Awami League joint general Secretary, prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Saiful died of a cardiac arrest at his residence in city's Dhanmondi this morning at 78.

He was buried at Rayerbazar Intellectual graveyard here following a Namaz-e-Janaza.
