DHAKA, Oct 30, 2023 (BSS) - In a statement, 237 eminent citizens of the
country today urged law enforcement agencies to take necessary measures to
keep law and order situation normal during the three-day nationwide blockade
enforced by BNP.
According to the statement, signed by 237 eminent citizens including Shahriar
Kabir, Ramendu Majumdar, Muntasir Mamun, Shyamoli Nasrin Chowdhury and
Muhammed Zafar Iqbal, Bangladesh saw terrible violence during the rally of
BNP on October 28.
Rejecting blockade programme called by BNP and Jamaat, the eminent citizens
said such type of programme of BNP and Jamaat launched destructive activities
and created unstable situation between 2013 and 2015.
They urged the government to take all necessary security measures to foil any
destructives activities during the three-day blockade programme called by BNP
and Jamaat.
BNP and Jamaat killed people setting fire on buses and attacked the minority
people between hartals and blockade programe between 2013 and 2015, the
eminent citizens added.
