Stern action will be taken if BNP creates anarchy again: Amu

DHAKA, Oct 30, 2023 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) advisory council member and 14-party alliance spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu today said strict action will be taken against BNP if the party will create anarchy in the name of movement in the country again.

"The BNP's movement is means terror, anarchy, arson attack and killing people," he told a protest rally of central 14-party against attacks on the Chief Justice's residence, police and journalists in front of central office of AL in city's Bangabandhu Avenue.

He said BNP attacked on the Chief Justice's residence, journalists and killed on a policeman as well as arson attack on vehicles in the name of grand rally in city's Naya Paltan on October 28. It is proved that BNP is a terrorist party, Amu said.

The AL veteran leader said the upcoming general election will be held under the incumbent government in time as per the country's constitution.
The BNP will not be exempted, he added.

In 2014, BNP had arson attack a total of 6.50 educational institutions and they (BNP) had killed a total of 18 policemen, said Amu. The party doesn't want development of the country, he added.

Amu said the BNP wants to destroy country's democratic trend and the party wants to turn Bangladesh into a failed state through create anarchic situation but AL leaders and activists and peaceful people of Bangladesh won't halt it.

He urged all to remain alert against the BNP's any kind of conspiracy under the AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
 
The 14-party Alliance will participate in the upcoming general election with Awami League, he said.

Workers Party of Bangladesh President Rashed Khan Menon said BNP-Jamaat has failed through their terrorist activities on October 28.
 
Jatiya Samaj Tantric Dal Jasd President Hasanul Haque Inu said the BNP killed police and attacked on the Chief Justice's residence in the name of rally on October 28. The BNP is the masked devil of democracy there is no compromise with BNP, he said.

Jatiya Party (JP) Secretary General Sheikh Shahidul Islam said the non communal unity will be built like Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman against BNP-Jamaat.
 
We will make a non communal Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Islam added.

Awami League presidium members Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Bir Bikram and Advocate Qamrul Islam, AL joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua, Tarikat Federation general secretary Mohammad Ali Faruqi, president of the Ganatantric Party Shahadat Hossain, Dhaka city south AL President Abu Ahmed Mannafi and general secretary Humayun Kabir, National Awami Party NAP general secretary Mohammad Ali, Gana Azadi League president SK Shikder, BASD convener Rezaur Rashid Khan, Dhaka city AL North General Secretary SM Mannan Kochi and former Dhaka city AL general secretary Shah-e-Alam Murad, among others, spoke in the meeting.
 
AL Liberation War affairs secretary Mrinal Kant Das conducted the meeting.
