DHAKA, Oct 29, 2023 (BSS) - Two people were arrested this morning in connection with the killing of police constable Amirul Islam Parvez in the Saturday's clash between police and BNP activists.
The detainees are- M. Sultan, convener of Palashbari Union Jubo Dal and Shamim Reza.
Earlier, in the morning, a murder case was filed with Paltan Model Thana in connection with the murder of Constable Amirul Islam Parvez.
During BNP's grand rally on Saturday noon, BNP leaders and workers encountered with police at several places in the city including Naya Paltan, Shantinagar, Kakrail, Fakirapool and Dainik Bangla intersections.
Over 41 police personnel were injured during the clash, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police's media cell.
Constable Amirul was found lying over the street near Fakirapool Box Culvert road. Soon he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where the duty doctors declared him dead.
