DHAKA, Oct 14, 2023 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today said many people talk tall when the election comes, but everyone should remain alert against those culprits.

 
"The next election is on the doorstep. Many developments have taken place in Ranguniya upazila in the last 15 years. I urge all of you to project the development activities before every person of the constituency," he said.
 

The minister said this while virtually addressing a meeting of the beneficiaries of Parua Union at a community center of the Union Parishad in Ranguniya upazila.
 

Parua Union Parishad chairman Ektehar Hossain presided over the meeting.
 

At the beginning of his speech, Dr Hasan urged the global community to take steps to stop the killing of innocent people of Palestine by Israel.
 

The information minister urged the people of his constituency to ask the persons who come only during the election - where they were during the COVID-19 situation, floods and other disasters.
 

He said the present government has introduced different allocations for the common people. Presently, about two thousand to four thousand people of every union are getting the allocations and the amount of the allocation has been increasing day by day, he added.

 
He said the government is providing these allocations regularly. The allocations will be stopped if the AL government is not in power, he added.

 
He said a number of developments have taken place in every sector of the country. The scenario of Bangladesh has changed during the last 15 years and the Awami League government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina did the development, said Dr Hasan.
 

He urged the people of Rangunia to keep their doors open for him in the next national elections as he was beside them in the past.
 

"The national election is approaching. Please pray for me, when I will visit your doors in the election, keep your doors open for me," said Hasan Mahmud.
 

Awami League Ranguniya upazila unit general secretary Engineer Shamsul Alam Talukder, Jubo League upazila unit Badiul Khayer Litan Chowdhury, general secretary Mohammad Younus, AL Parua Union unit general secretary Md Ilias Talukder, Jubo League union unit president Abul Hashem, general secretary Md Abdullah and Chhatra League union unit acting president Kutub Uddin, among others, addressed the meeting.
