Light to moderate rain, thundershowers likely

DHAKA, Sept 3, 2021 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am today.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at isolated places over the country in 24-hour till 9am tomorrow,” said a met office bulletin issued here this morning.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the bulletin added.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded at 110 mm at Rajarhat in Rangpur division.

Country’s maximum temperature yesterday was recorded at 35.4 degrees Celsius at Chandpur in Chattogram division and minimum temperature today was 23.0 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur in Rangpur division.

The sun sets at 6:15 pm today and rises at 5:41 am tomorrow in the capital.
