DHAKA, Sept 2, 2021 (BSS) – Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Sirajganj-6 constituency lawmaker, Shahjadpur Upazila Awami League president and valiant freedom fighter Md Hasibur Rahman Swapan.

In a condolence message, Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Swapan, also former deputy minister for industries, passed away in the early hours of today while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Turkey at the age of 66.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, relatives and a host of well-wishers and admirers.
