DHAKA, Sept 1, 2021 (BSS) - Syed Saleheen Qadri, a former Dhaka
University Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department
died in the early hours of today.

   He was 73.

   Professor Qadri, also husband of Ramon Magsaysay Award-winning
scientist Firdausi Qadri, breathed his last around 4.30 am at a
private hospital in the capital, said Professor Yearul Kabir, chairman
of DU Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department.

   His Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Gulshan's Azad Mosque after Zuhr
prayers. Later, he was laid to eternal rest at the Banani graveyard.

  He is survived by his wife scientist Firdausi Qadri, two sons and a daughter.

  DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Akhtaruzzaman expressed deep shock and
sorrow at the death of Professor Syed Saleheen Qadri.
