DHAKA, Sept 20, 2023 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Ekushey Padak winning dancer and television actress Zeenat Barkatullah.

In a message of condolence, the minister said Zeenat played a pivotal role in the cultural arena.

Dr Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
 
Zeenat Barkatullah passed away this afternoon at her own residence in Dhanmondi. She was suffering from old-age complications.
