Martyrdom anniversary of former Air Chief Bashar observed

Dhaka, Sept 1, 2021 (BSS) - Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) observed the 45th martyrdom anniversary of former Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Khademul Bashar, Bir Uttam and Squadron Leader Mofijul Haque today with due solemnity.

Air Vice Marshal Bashar possessed the dignity for commanding the 6th sector during Liberation War of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Air Force remembered this freedom fighter for his glorious contribution to achieve independence and building of BAF with due respect and honour.

This brave pilot was martyred on 01 September 1976 in a tragic plane accident. Mentionable that, Squadron Leader Mofijul Haque was also martyred in the same plane accident.

On this occasion, milad mahfil was arranged at the central mosques of all BAF Bases and Units. A special munajat was also offered seeking divine blessings for salvation of the departed souls and for the continued peace and prosperity of the country.

On this occasion, a doa mahfil was arranged in compliance with all the health regulations related to COVID-19 as directed by the government at the central mosques of all BAF bases and units, said a press release.

Senior BAF officers, Airmen, and civilians were present in the doa mahfil. Besides, BAF Base Bangabandhu organised doa and fatiha at the graveyards of the martyrdom.
