Light to moderate rain likely over country

   DHAKA, Sept 1, 2021 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD)
today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by
temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours
commencing at 9 am today.

  "Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty
wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh,
Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Barishal
and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at isolated places
over the country," said a met office bulletin issued here today.

   Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country,
it added.

   The highest temperature yesterday was recorded at 35.7 degrees Celsius at
Rajshahi in Rajshahi division while today's minimum temperature was 24.8
degrees Celsius at Cox's Bazar in Chattogram division.

   Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 50
millimeters (mm) at Chattogram in Chattogram division.

   The sun sets at 6:16pm today and rises at 5:41 am tomorrow in the capital.
