RAJSHAHI, Aug 22, 2023 (BSS) - Science and Technology Minister Yeafesh Osman has said now the stage of taking Bangladesh to the era of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).

 
Bangladesh has attained significant success in the field of science and technology during the last around 15 years. So time has come to take the country to the 4IR era as it's characterized by new technologies including artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and the internet.

The minister came up with the observation while visiting the newly constructed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre here today.

After the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hi-tech Park, the newly constructed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theater is the ever-largest big infrastructure in Rajshahi.

Established on 2.30 acres of land at the frontal portion of Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Central Zoo and Botanical Garden, the Novo Theater has raised its head upon completion of its infrastructural development works.
 
The project titled 'Establishment of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre, Rajshahi' was implemented in Rajshahi metropolis with an estimated cost of Taka 232.73 crore.
 
Novo Theater Authority and Public Works Department (PWD) have implemented the project sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Minister Yeafesh Osman said the the ultramodern technology enriched Bangabandhu Novo Theater will play pioneering role towards making students from local and outsides science-minded.

All changes of the country and its people were achieved through the path of science. Fortunately, the journey of Digital Bangladesh began from the science and technology ministry, the minister added.
 
He said the present government has adopted the Novo Theater project with the main thrust of expanding knowledge about aeronautics among the people particularly the young generation side by side with building a science and technology based society.
 
Minister Yeafesh Osman said the novo theatre would be a centre of excellence for science and technology education as well as entertainment in Rajshahi and the entire northwest region.
 
He said science and technology as well as space education are a must for the new generation to build the 'Smart Bangladesh' successfully by 2041.
 
The present government under the dynamic and prudent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very much sincere towards encouraging the young generation as well as students to learn science and technology more and more.
