CHATTOGRAM, August 29, 2021 (BSS) - Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel said the government is working to turn Chattogram General Hospital (CGH) into a medical college hospital.  
 
He was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the new High Dependency Unit (HDU) ward at the hospital today.
 
The HDU was set up at the initiative of Chattogram Field Hospital with the financial support of BSRM.
 
The Deputy Education Minister said the hospitals in Chattogram have been developed as a result of public-private initiatives.
 
“In addition to individual initiatives, various business organizations have stood with financial support. We are able to deal with Corona properly in cooperation of all,” he added.  
 
CGH Senior Consultant Dr. Abdur Rab Masum conducted the function while Civil Surgeon Dr. Sheikh Fazle Rabbi presided over it.
 
BSRM Deputy Managing Director Tapan Sengupta, and Chattogram Field Hospital CEO Dr. Bidyut Baura, among others, addressed the function.
