CHATTOGRAM, July 28, 2023 (BSS) - The pass rate of Secondary School
Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations-2023 in Chittagong Education
Board (CEB) is 78.29 percent while it (pass rate) was 87.53 per cent in the
last year.
This year, a total of 1,20,086 students came out successful in the
examinations under the board with the decrease in percentage of pass rate and
the number of GPA-5 scorers, according to the results published here today.
Narayan Chandra Nath, CEB Controller of Examinations, told BSS that 9.24
percent pass rate less than the previous year and this year's GPA-5 have also
decreased 38.66 percent in the SSC and equivalent examinations held under the
board.
In the current year, a total of 1,54,769 students from 1,107 educational
institutions appeared in the SSC examinations in 216 centers under the CEB.
Of those, 1,20,086 students came out successful.
There are 45 schools under the board which have secured 100 percent pass rate
in the examinations this year, sources said.
The CEB Controller of Examinations said that 11,450 students-- 6,446 are
girls and 5,004 are boys-- got GPA-5 in the SSC examinations under the board
this year which is less than 7,214 as 18,664 got GPA-5 in 2022.
The female students have outnumbered their male counterparts in terms of pass
rate including GPA-5 in the examinations-2023, sources said.
"After the COVID-19 situation, the examinations have been conducted in all
subjects and in full time this year. Hence the pass rate and GPA-5 has
decreased. Overall, our students have done well," Narayan Chandra added.
