BCL stages demo protesting BNP's recent violence

DHAKA, July 19, 2023 (BSS) - Bangladesh Chhatra League today staged a demonstration on Dhaka University campus protesting recent countrywide violence carried out by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) men.

Leaders and activists of BCL, led by BCL central president Saddam Hussain and General Secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Enan, brought out a protest rally at the base of the Anti-terrorist Raju Memorial sculpture of the Teacher-Student Centre on DU campus.

While addressing the BCL president, Saddam Hussain said the BNP has been trying to create unrest and tensions among the people by creating violence in different parts of the country in the name of protest.

This is their strategy but they will not be able to become successful, he said, adding, "Their (BNP) leaders give orders to carry out terror activities and they also negotiate with global terrorist organisations to capsize power".

The Chhatra League will do a ballot revolution to ensure the defeat of those who want to lead the country from abroad and sell the sovereignty of the country for power, he added.

Sheikh Wali Asif Inan said BCL leaders and activists made this country free by standing against the bullets and bayonets of terrorists and suppressors. If the BNP men try to create even the slightest chaos anywhere in the country, BCL will respond strongly, he added.

DU BCL President Mazharul Kabir Shouyon and General Secretary Tanbir Hasan Shaikat also addressed on the occasion. BCL leaders and activists from different units took part in the protest rally.
