Dhaka, June 25, 2021 (BSS) - The government has formed a new board of directors of the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) with editor of The Daily Sun, Enamul Haque Chowdhury as its chairman and the director general.

   This board will act for the next two years with immediate effect, according to a gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.  

   The other members of the Board are one representative nominated by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, one nominated by the Ministry of Public Administration, one nominated by the Finance Department, one nominated by the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, one nominated by the Department of Secondary and Higher Education. Chief Information Officer, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Chairman of Dhaka University, Acting Editor of Daily Samakal Mustafiz Shafi, Editor-in-Chief of The Bangladesh Post Sahab Uddin, Editor-in-Chief of DBC News M Manjurul Islam, Treasurer of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists Dip Azad, Member of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists Sheikh Mamunur Rashid, President of National Press Club Farida Yasmin and current editor of Dainik Desh Nasir Uddin Chowdhury.
   
  The nominated members will remain in office for a period of two years from the date of nomination, the notification of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said.
