DHAKA, July 17, 2023 (BSS) - Three-day 'Blockchain Olympiad Bangladesh-2023' will begin at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) in the city on July 23. 

Blockchain Olympiad Bangladesh is going to organize the competition for the fourth time in the country. 

The organizers disclosed the information at a press conference today at the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Auditorium at the ICT Tower in city's Agargaon area, said an official release here.
 
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Secretary Md Shamsul Arefin was present at the press conference as the chief guest while BCC Executive Director Ranajit Kumar, Blockchain Olympiad Bangladesh Convener and BRAC University Professor Dr Mohammad Kaykobad and Blockchain Olympiad Bangladesh Coordinator Habibullah N Karim were present as special guests. 

The three-day Blockchain Olympiad will end following the prize distribution among the winners at the KIB on July 25. State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak will be present at the prize giving ceremony as the chief guest. 

Speaking at the press conference, Md Shamsul Arefin emphasized on the use of blockchain technology to combat data fraud, fraudulence and hackers during the fourth industrial revolution.

"This Olympiad will play a vital role in making the use of blockchain familiar with the people", he said. 

According to the information revealed at the press conference, 118 teams got registered to contest in the competition. Of those, 40 teams have been nominated for the final round. 

Out of those, four teams will be declared winner through the 'white paper' evaluation.

The three-day Olympiad will be featured with four online seminars where local and international speakers will join.
