DHAKA, July 16, 2023 (BSS) - A female lawyer was killed and another injured as a bus hit their motorbike on Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover in the city's Jatrabari area this morning.

The victim was identified as Parvin Sultana, 55, daughter of Abul Hossain, a resident of Sutrapur area.

The accident occurred around 12 noon when a bus of 'Lovely Paribahan' hit the motorbike carrying Parveen and her nephew Shakhawat Hossain, leaving both injured, said Md Quamruzzaman, sub-inspector of Jatrabari Police Station.

The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where duty doctors declared Parveen dead.

Police seized the bus and detained its driver.

The lawyer met the tragic accident while returning to Dhaka after appearing before a Narayanganj court in a land dispute case.
