DHAKA, July 14, 2023 (BSS) - The Ministry of Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT)
Affairs has taken up various programmes marking its 25th founding anniversary
to be celebrated tomorrow.

Marking the day, a discussion will be held at 11 am in the meeting room of
the Ministry of CHT Affairs here on July 16 next, a press release said here
today.

The 'Sheikh Hasina Parbottyo Chattogram Oitijjo Songrokkhon O Gobeshona
Kendro', located at Bailey road here, has been already decorated by hanging a
huge festoon and distributing greeting cards, the release added.

On the eve of the day, Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur
Ushwe Sing gave a greeting message to the countrymen wishing all the
programmes taken for the founding anniversary a success.

In view of the historical CHT Peace Accord, a specialized ministry named the
Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ministry was established on July 15, 1998
under the direction of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to improve the socio-
economic conditions and overall development of the greater hilly region's
people.
