DHAKA, Aug 26, 2021 (BSS) - The High Court (HC) today issued a rule asking lower court concerned to reply why it shall not pass an order to hear bail plea of actress Pori Moni within two days of receiving the HC order.  

The High Court in its rule also asked why it shall not quash the lower court’s August 22 order that had set September 13 for holding hearing on the actress's bail plea in the narcotics case.  

The High Court asked Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge court to reply the rule within September 1, and adjourned its hearing till that day.

A High Court Division virtual bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice KM Zahid Sarwar passed the order holding a hearing on a plea filed against the lower court's August 22 order.  

Senior lawyer Advocate ZI Khan Panna and Advocate Md Mujibur Rahman argued for Pori Moni, while Assistant Attorney General Md Mizanur Rahman stood for the state.

“The court asked state lawyers to inform Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge court about this order within 24 hours,” Advocate Md Mujibur Rahman told newsmen.
