DHAKA, July 5, 2023 (BSS) - The first ODI between Bangladesh and Afghanistan was reduced to a 43-over-affiar after rain intervened the game twice at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today.
Bangladesh reached 144-7 in 34.3 overs when rain halted the game for the second time. The hosts will play 8.3 overs more after the game restarts.
Towhid Hridoy was batting on 42 with Taskin Ahmed on 3. Liton Das was the another notable scorer with 26.
Star spinner Rashid Khan and pacer Fazal Haq Farooqi were the wrecker-in-chief with two wickets apiece after Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi sent Bangladesh into bat first.
