DHAKA, July 03, 2023 (BSS) - Three muggers, who were arrested for their alleged involvement in the killing of constable Moniruzzaman in the capital's Farmgate area on July 1, gave confessional statements before separate courts today.
 
The three accused are Rabbi, 21, Liton, 21, and Qamrul, 45.
 
Police produced the trio before the court today. As they agreed to give confessional statements, police pleaded to record their statements under section 164. 
 
Allowing the police plea, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Zaki Al-Farabi recorded statements of Rabbi and Qamrul, while Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rashidul Alam recorded the statements of Liton. Later, the courts sent them to jail.
 
Constable Moniruzzman was stabbed to death by a group of muggers in the Farmgate area as he resisted them while they tried to snatch his wallet and mobile phone.
