RANGPUR, June 17, 2023 (BSS) - Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said Bangladesh is a role model for the whole world in terms of its overall development.
He said Bangladesh is a role model following its overall development in the concept of the whole world.
"BNP is criticizing our government for political reasons when the whole world is calling us role model. They will criticize, but we have to approach people with this in mind. We have enough activities to go to people," he said.
He was addressing a function organized by Rangpur City Awami League at Public Library ground in the city to accord reception to 23 City Councilors elected in the Rangpur City Corporation Elections-2022 as the chief guest.
Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League and Bangladesh medical Association (BMA) President Dr. Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin delivered the inaugural addresses in the function presided over by Convener of City Awami League Dr Md Delwar Hossain.
City Awami League Joint Convener Md Abul Kashem, President of City Mohila Awami League Mamtaz Begum, Panel Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation and President of Rangpur Metropolitan Thana Awami League Tauhidul Islam, General Secretary of City Swechchasebak League Ramzan Ali Tuhin, General Secretary of City Chhatra League Sheikh Asif also spoke.
Tipu Munshi said everyone knows what the economic condition of Bangladesh was once.
"Our economy is in very good shape now. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has done a lot for the country and people. So the boat will win again in the next election. I believe Sheikh Hasina will be the prime minister again," he said.
The Commerce Minister called on the party leaders and workers to work together.
"We may have lost the Rangpur City Corporation elections. This does not mean that we do not have votes in Rangpur. More than half of our councilors have been elected in the city corporation elections," he said.
