WASHINGTON, June 8, 2023 (BSS/AFP) - US President Joe Biden offered his support to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in a call over the "devasting and historic" wildfires burning in his country, the White House said Wednesday.

"The President has directed his team to deploy all available Federal firefighting assets that can rapidly assist in suppressing fires impacting Canadian and American communities," the statement said, as smoke from the blazes blanketed much of the northeastern US in a hazy smog.
