SYLHET, Aug 23, 2021 (BSS) - Sunamganj correspondent of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), senior journalist Habibur Rahman Talukder (65), was buried at his family graveyard at Sunamganj's Radhanagar village around 2pm today.

Planning Minister MA Mannan, local MP, Dr Jaya Sengupta, Sylhet Press Club President Iqbal Siddiqui, District Press Club President Al Azad, Sunamganj Press Club President Shahjahan Chowdhury and other leaders mourned his death in separate condolence messages.

People from various political, social and professional organizations attended the namaz-e-janaza of late Habibur Rahman.

Family sources said Habibur Rahman died of a heart attack at around 11:30 pm on Sunday.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, siblings and a host of relatives and colleagues.

Apart from BSS, Habib has worked as a correspondent for Daily Ittefaq and Daily Sylhet Dak.

He was the founding general secretary and the current president of Dirai Upazila Press Club of Sunamganj.

Habibur Rahman Talukder was the former joint general secretary of Dirai Upazila Awami League unit.
