BSS Sunamganj correspondent Habibur Rahman dies

SYLHET, Aug 23, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS)’s Sunamganj district correspondent Habibur Rahman Talukder died of cardiac arrest last night at the age of 65.

After having cardiac arrest around 11:30 pm on Sunday, Habibur was immediately taken to a local hospital of Sylhet city. But the duty doctor declared him dead.

He left behind wife, two sons, a host of relatives and well wishers to mourn his death.

The veteran journalist will be buried at his own Radhanagor village in Derai Upazila of Sunamganj district after a namaj-e Janaza around 2pm today, family sources said.

He had been working as Sunamganj district correspondent of the national news agency for one and half decades.

At the same time, he worked as Derai correspondent of local ‘Dainik Sylheter Dak’ and the reputed Bengali daily ‘Dainik Ittefaq.

Habibur was president of Derai Press Club until his death while he was also a founder and former general secretary of the press club.
