DHAKA, Aug 18, 2021 (BSS) - Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had worked for establishing the rights of the exploited and deprived people of the country.

"Bangabandhu is a strong voice to establish the rights of the exploited and deprived people. His indomitable courage, patriotism, love for the people, protest against injustice should  be followed by all," she said.

She was speaking virtually as the chief guest at a discussion titled 'Bangabandhu and Present Bangladesh in Luminous Memories' organized by Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University on the occasion of National Mourning Day.

Shirin said that independent Bangladesh is the successful result of Bangabandhu's long movement and struggle.

He (Bangabandhu) then presented the nation the greatest constitution in the world, she said.

With Vice-Chancellor of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University Dr M Kamruzzaman in the chair, the programme was addressed ,among others, by Professor Emeritus Dr A K Azad Chowdhury, Former Vice Chancellor of the University Md Afzal Hossain and University Treasurer Bidhan Chandra Haldar.
