NARAIL, Aug 18, 2021 (BSS) – The 6th death anniversary of Suvra Mukherjee, wife of former President of India Pranab Mukherjee, was observed in the district today in a befitting manner.

Marking the death anniversary, day-long programmes were organized at Tularampur Gopal and Kali Mandir premises in Narail Sadar upazila.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Habibur Rahman attended the programme as the chief guest while Police Super Prabir Kumar Roy was present as special guest.

Sadar UNO Sadia Islam, Narail municipality mayor and district Awami League vice-president Anjuman Ara, assistant superintendent of police Sohanur Rahman Sohag, director of Suvra Mukherjee Foundation Ayon Chandra das addressed the function, among others.

Suvra Mukherjee Foundation trustee Kartik Chandra Ghos presided over the function. Dr Alok Kumar Baghchi, Narail Press Club former vice-president Sultan Mahmood and Sadar thana officer-in-charge Showkat Kabir were also present at the function.

Suvra Mukherjee was born on September 17, 1940 in Narail district and spent her very early years there. She died in Delhi on August 18 in 2015.
