DHAKA, April 16, 2023 (BSS) - Railways Minister M Nurul Islam Sujan today said that no passenger can enter railway stations without a ticket.

The minister said this after visiting the Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka to see the overall preparations for the Eid journey.

The minister said, 'Our two main religious festivals are Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha. Hundreds of thousands of people leave Dhaka city to visit
their relatives and spend Eid in village houses during this time. One of the means of transportation is railway. A lot of pressure is created during Eid.

To cope with this pressure, we prepare and take various activities. We announced our plan a month ago through the media, he added.

Sujan also said 100 percent of preparations have been completed to make Eid trips safe and enjoyable for homebound people.

For the first time, all advance train tickets were sold online, he added.

The Eid special service will begin from tomorrow and expected to be run until the last week of the month, the minister added.

Secretary of the Ministry of Dr Md Humayun Kabir, Director General of Bangladesh Railways Kamrul Ahsan and other senior officials were present.
