BANDARBAN, March 20, 2023 (BSS) - Six people, including five women, were killed and nine others injured in a collision between two trucks on the Ruma-Bagalek road in Bagalek area under Ruma upazila of the district this afternoon.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The accident occurred in the area when a truck lost control over the steering and ran over another passenger-laden truck coming from the opposite direction on the Ruma-Bagalek road around 1.45pm, leaving four people died on the spot and 11 others seriously injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ruma Police Station Alamgir Hossain said.

The two injured were taken to Lama Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on-duty declared them dead, he said.

Later, five injured have been sent to Bandarban Sadar Hospital and the remaining four have been sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for better treatment, the OC added.
