DHAKA, Mar19, 2023 (BSS)-The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Housing and Public Works Ministry in its 27th meeting today emphasized to install STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) for protection of Cox's Bazar beach and Saint Martin Island.

The meeting was held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its Chairman Engineer Mosharraf Hossain in the chair where Committee members-Narayan Chandra Chand and Md Monowar Hossain Chowdhury joined.

The meeting ratified the minutes of the 26th meeting and discussed on the progress of implementation of the decisions taken in the last meeting.

Overall progress and future plans of the Public Works Department, RAJUK, National Housing Authority, Chattogram Development Authority, Cox's Bazar Development Authority, Rajshahi Development Authority, Khulna Development Authority, Urban Development Directorate, Directorate of Architecture, Housing and Building Research Institute and its ongoing projects were discussed. 

The committee took a decision to ask the National Housing Authority to implement residential project following the artistic of the Directorate of Architecture at GEC intersection in Chattogram city.

It advised to the Rajshahi Development Authority (RDA) to demolish its market and construct a multi-storied building with modern facilities to ensure the rehabilitation plan for the shop owners.

Concerned officials including secretary of the ministry and related officials of the parliament secretariat were present in the meeting.
