National Primary Education Week-2023 begins in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, MAR 14, 2023 (BSS) - National Primary Education Week-2023 has
begun in the district on Monday with a call to ensure quality primary
education to the students to build Smart Bangladesh.

Marking the week, the district primary education office at the directives of
Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has chalked out the elaborate
programmes with the theme "Mansommoto Prathamik Sikkha, Smart Bangladesh
Garar Dikkha".

In the morning around 11 am, a post rally discussion meeting was held on the
premises of Maddhopara Govt. Primary School of the town here with deputy
commissioner (DC) Md Oliur Rahman in the chair.

Whip of the Jatiya Sangshad and local lawmaker Mahabub Ara Begum Gini
addressed the function as the chief guest and president of district Awami
League and also chairman of the Zila Parishad Abu Bakar Siddique spoke in the
event as special guest.

Speaking on the occasion, whip of the Jatiya Sangshad in her speech said it
is not possible to build Smart Bangladesh without quality education. So she
emphasized the need for ensuring quality teaching to the students to attain
the cherished goal.

She also urged the teachers to be serious and more professional in principle
so that all the school could be turned into knowledge acquiring centres to
produce brilliant students from there to lead the country push forward by
using their merits.

Panel mayor of Gaibandha Municipality Shaheed Ahmed district Primary
Education Officer(DPEO) Harunar Rashid, Sadar upazila primary education
officer Jakirul Islam and Sadullapur upazila primary education officer
Abdullahel Kafi addressed the function, among others.

DPEO Harunar Rashid said more programmes like education fair, Mina display,
puppet show, workshop on quality education, educative cultural function, and
documentary film screening would be held marking the week.

He also sought whole hearted cooperation of all to make national primary
education week-2019 grand success in the district through active
participation of all the concerned.

A large number of students, teachers, education officials, and district and
upazila level officials including journalists attended the programme.
