Ziaur Rahman patronized Bangabandhu’s assassination: Tajul

DHAKA, Aug 15, 2021 (BSS) - Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam today said Ziaur Rahman directly patronized the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family on August 15, 1975.

He was speaking at a discussion titled ‘Bangabandhu and Bangladesh’  as the chief guest on the occasion of the 46th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu and National Mourning Day at the Department of Public Health Engineering at Kakrail in the capital.

Helaluddin Ahmed, senior secretary of the local government division, presided over it.

BNP engages in politics of torture, injustice, exploitation, revenge, and destruction, Tajul said, adding that Awami League, on the other hand, does the politics of justice, human rights, and good governance.

“This is the difference between the two political parties,” he added.

Pointing out BNP, he also said that the BNP is now on the verge of extinction due to its destructive politics.

He said those who killed Bangabandhu were allies of Pakistanis, Razakars, Al Shams and Al-Badr forces.

After killing the father of the nation, they were honored by giving high positions, he said, adding that they were given the opportunity to use flag earned in exchange for the blood of millions of martyrs.

Earlier, Tajul laid a wreath at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of his 46th martyrdom anniversary and National Mourning Day there.

Later, he inaugurated Bangabandhu Photo Gallery organised by Bangabandhu Engineering Council. During the time, he also distributed food among the poor.
