DHAKA, March 4, 2023 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Abdur Rahman said ousting the government is not BNP's only goal rather it wants to ruin the country.

He was addressing as the chief guest at a peace rally in front of AL Central office at Bangabandhu Avenue.

All thana and wards units of AL under Dhaka-8 constituency in Dhaka city south arranged the rally. 

"I am telling those parties including BNP which are dreaming of restoring the caretaker government system that their dream will never come true in this soil," said Abdur Rahman.

Noting that AL will not accept any unconstitutional demand, he said parliamentary elections will be held in a free and fair manner as per the constitution. "We want a participatory election," he said.

The AL Presidium Member said as long as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina remains in power, the people of the country will stay well. 

Dhaka City South AL vice-president Abdus Sattar Masud chaired the peace rally while AL Central Working Committee member Sayeed Khokon and Dhaka City South AL Joint General Secretary Morshed Kamal addressed it, among others.
