DHAKA, Aug 14, 2021 (BSS)- Awami League Advisory Council Member and 14-party alliance spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu today demanded the formation of an inquiry-commission on the assassination of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the mastermind behind the assassination.

He made the demand while addressing a virtual discussion titled 'Bangabandhu's Political Philosophy and Today's Bangladesh', organized by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote on the occasion of National Mourning Day.

Amu underscored the need of forming the inquiry-commission as those culprits and conspirators need to be judged and exposed to the next generation.

He said the young generation should come forward to build a prosperous Bangladesh of tomorrow with the political philosophy, cherished dreams Nation.

Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Md Murad Hassan, Agartala Conspiracy Case's accused Flight Sergeant (Retd) Abdul Jalil, Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote General Secretary Arun Sarkar Rana and Vice-President Aruna Biswas also spoke, among others, on the occasion.

Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim said that although some retired and junior officers of the army were directly involved in the assassination of Bangabandhu, the Father of the Nation was killed along with his family on the orders of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and Khandakar Mushtaq.

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Md Murad Hassan demanded a posthumous trial of Ziaur Rahman for his alleged involvement in the assassination of Bangabandhu.
