NATORE, Feb 28, 2023 (BSS) - Japanese Kumon Method of Learning was introduced

in Singra upazila of the district today.

Department of Information and Communication Technology and BRAC Kumon Limited
jointly organised the function.

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaed Ahmed
Palak inaugurated the programme 'Kumon Connect' virtually at a function held
in Damdama School and College of the upazila.

Palak said Kumon Method of Learning was introduced in Japan in 1958 to
decrease the stress of the students. "It will also help the students keeping
away from the so called competition at their respective institutions," he
added.

"Kumon Method is practiced in 14,500 educational institutions of 61 countries
across the world," the state minister said, adding that the method will be
functioned in more six upazilas within 2023.

Director General (DG) of the Department of Information and Communication
Technology Md Mostofa Kamal, District Education Officer Md Akhter Hossain,
Municipality Mayor Md Zannatul Ferdous, Chief of BRAC Kumon Ltd Nehal Bin
Hasan and Kumon representative in Bangladesh Fuji Shun spoke, among others,
on the occasion.

Kumon's study programme places great importance on self-learning, encouraging
students to discover how to solve problem for themselves. It helps the
students for developing a positive attitude to study.
