DHAKA, Feb 26, 2023 (BSS) - A fire that broke out at Korail slum in the Mohakhali area of the capital around 4:30 pm today was brought under control by the firefighters around 5:30 pm.
 
Rakibul Hasan, duty officer at Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, said that being informed, a total of nine units of firefighters rushed to the spot and managed to douse the blaze after around one hour of tireless efforts.
 
The origin of the fire and the extent of loss were not known immediately, he added. 
 
However, no casualty has been reported till the filing of the report, he said.
 
"The extent of damage could be known after the investigation," Rakibul added.
