MYMENSINGH, Feb 6, 2023 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested fugitive death row convict Md Sultan Mahmud Fakir who was sentenced by the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT-1) for committing crimes against humanity in 1971.
 
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-14 arrested him from Bhatikashar area in the capital at 9pm on Sunday, said a press release of RAB-14.

Sultan Mahmud is a son of late Asmat Ali Fakir of Trishal upazila in the district. 

On January 23 last, the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT-1) sentenced six people including Sultan Mahmud to death for committing crimes against humanity in Mymensingh's Trishal during the Liberation War in 1971.
