Awami League pays tribute to Moslem Uddin Ahmed

 
 
DHAKA, Feb 6, 2023 (BSS) - Awami League today paid tribute to deceased Chattogram south district Awami League (AL) president Moslem Uddin Ahmed after his first namaz-e-janaza held in front of the AL central party office at city's Bangabandhu Avenue at 11.00am today.
 
Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader first paid tribute to the deceased freedom fighter on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
 
Later, under his leadership, Awami League paid tribute to him.
Awami League Presidium member Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud, State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, AL Organizing Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Aminul Islam Amin, Office Secretary Biplab Barua, Whips Shamsul Alam Chowdhury and Md Atiur Rahman Atik and others also paid tribute to Moslem Uddin Ahmed.

Later, tributes were paid on behalf of Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and Deputy Speaker Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku.
 
Moslem Uddin Ahmed passed away at a hospital in the capital early today at the age of 75.
 
"He breathed his last at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka around 12:30 am," his nephew Lokman Chowdhury told BSS. 
 
The elderly AL politician had been suffering from cancer and other diseases for the last two years, he said.
 
Ahmed is survived by his wife, four daughters, a host of relatives, friends, well-wishers and political fellows.
