36 Rohingya families relocated to Kutupalang transit camp from no-man's land in Bandarban

BANDARBAN, Feb 5, 2023 (BSS) - Thirty six Rohingya families have been relocated to Kutupalang transit camp in Cox's Bazar from no-man's land in Tumru frontier under Naikhongchhari Upazila of the hilly district.

Kutupalang camp-5 in-charge Pritam Shah said of the families, 24 are registered by UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) and 12 families are registered by ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross).

The total number of members of 36 families is 180.

Refugee Abu Taher, Md Rubel, Rubina Akhter and Nizamuddin told this correspondent that they were going to Kutupalang willingly.

The members of Rohingya families left the camp and started living on the no-man's land following a clash between the two armed rival groups of Rohingyas on January 18.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Romen Sharma confirmed the matter.
