DCs asked to ensure stable price of essentials during Ramadan: Tipu Munshi
DHAKA, Jan 25, 2023 (BSS) - Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi today said that the concerned Deputy Commissioners (DCs) have been asked to remain vigil so that no one can manipulate the prices of essentials during the holy month of Ramadan.
The minister said this while talking to reporters after a meeting with the DCs at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the city.
"I have asked them to take strict measures so that no one can manipulate the price of essentials during Ramadan," he said adding that the deputy commissioners have also been asked to remain aware on consumers' rights.
Tipu said that the assistance of the DCs is also needed to expand trade.
Responding to a question about monitoring the markets for daily essentials, the minister said that DCs have been asked to implement all steps taken by the government.
The three-day annual conference of the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) began yesterday.
There will be a total of 26 sessions, including 20 working sessions, with various ministries at the DC conference, ending tomorrow.
