DHAKA, Jan 25, 2023 (BSS) - A court here today sent eight people to jail in a case lodged over murder of transport worker Imran Hossain in the capital's Jatrabari area on January 23.
 
The eight accused are- Md Mustakim, Khaled Hasan, Md Arif Hossain, Tanjil Miah, Romjan Molla, Russel, Shahid Sheikh and Arif Sarder.
 
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rashidul Alam passed the order as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to keep them behind the bars till the end of probe in the case. The court also set March 6 for submitting probe report.
 
Imran, 35, was murdered after coming between two fractions of transport workers fighting for rights to extort money from vehicles. Victim's wife Popi Akter filed the case against 21 including the local ward councillor.
