None will be allowed kidnapping, terrorism: Home Minister

COX’S BAZAR, Jan 15, 2023 (BSS) - Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said that the government will not allow anyone to engage kidnapping and terrorism in Rohingya camps. 

“I have heard about kidnapping and terror activities in Rohingya camps, of course we will take stern action against them. I will not allow stealing, robbery and kidnapping in Rohingya camps,” he stated.

The Home Minister told the reporters after a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Home Affairs at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office here this afternoon.

Replying to a question about the recent list of drugs paddlers in Cox's Bazar, he said, “We see it fast. Then check it out. If the list is justified, it would be verified by the intelligence agencies and then legal action will be taken against them.”

Parliamentary Standing Committee Chairman Benazir Ahmed, its members Pir Fazlur Rahman Misba, Noor Mohammad, Samsul Alam Dudu and Mohammad Habibur Rahman joined the meeting.
Among others, Secretary to the Security Service Division of the Home Ministry Abdullah Al Masud Chowdhury, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shaheen Imran and Superintendent of Police Mahfuzul Islam were present at the meeting. 

Earlier, the Home Minister came to Cox's Bazar on a two-day visit.
