Book 'Bhasa Andolan Theke Muktijudda ebong Majibur Rahman' published

  RANGPUR, Jan 6, 2023 (BSS) - The book 'Bhasa Andolan Theke Muktijudda ebong Majibur Rahman' (War of Liberation from Language Movement and Majibur Rahman' was ceremonially published in a function here today.

    Heroic freedom fighters, high officials and literary and cultural personalities unveiled cover of the book in the function organized by 'The Idea Prakashan' at Public Library hall room in the city.  

    Divisional Commissioner Md. Sabirul Islam attended the function as the chief guest with language movement veteran and heroic freedom fighter Majibur Rahman in the chair.

    Deputy Commissioner Dr. Chitralekha Nazneen was present as a special guest.  

    Heroic freedom fighter Advocate Elias Ahmed, writer and history researcher Rezaul Karim Mukul, writer and cultural activist Monwara Begum participated in the discussion.  

    Author and publisher of the book, poet Sakil Masud, gave a welcome speech narrating different aspects of the book written on the War of Liberation from Language Movement and heroic freedom fighter Mujibur Rahman.  

    While discussing the book, former Additional Secretary heroic freedom fighter Kali Ranjan Barman said the book written by Sakil Masud is an important addition to the history of the War of Liberation.  

    "In this book, many important facts of the War of Liberation have come together elevating the book to a different standard from all other books," he said.  

    Rezaul Karim Mukul said Majibur Rahman is one of the few people whose names are known at the leadership level in the movements and struggles of Rangpur. That is why the book is a new addition to the history of War of Liberation.  

    Heroic freedom fighter Advocate Elias Ahmed said, "It is a courageous initiative in publishing books based on the history of the War of Liberation and biographies of the heroic freedom fighters."  

    The Deputy Commissioner said the new generation is very curious about space science, but they are a little indifferent about the history of the War of Liberation.  

    "Everyone, including the family, should play a role in making the young generation more interested in the history of the War Liberation," she said.  

    The Divisional Commissioner said the history of Rangpur is of struggle and of traditions.  

    "We got Bangladesh in exchange for sacrifices of the people in the War of Liberation and their history needs to be preserved so that generation after generation may know them and their scarifies and true national history," he said.
