DHAKA, Aug 22, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister's wife and Vice President of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF) Dr Zubaida Rahman today visited a free cataract surgery camp as the chief guest.

The ZRF and Eye Bashar International Foundation jointly organized the camp at the Bashantek Government Secondary School Ground in the city.

Free cataract surgeries, medicines and spectacles are being provided to patients at the camp, according to the BNP Media Cell.

ZRF Director Engineer Md Mahbub Alam said around 1,000 people received eye check-ups, medicines and spectacles at the camp. Patients requiring cataract surgery were identified and selected for further treatment.

ZRF Executive Director and BNP National Standing Committee member Professor Dr Farhad Halim Donar, ZRF Director and Senior Medical Officer at the Prime Minister's Office Shah Muhammad Aman Ullah, ZRF Directors Engineer Md Mahbub Alam, Agriculturist Dr Mahfuzul Haq Bachchu and Engineer Zahirul Islam, along with officials of the Eye Bashar International Foundation, were present at the event.
