JASHORE, July 31, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit today said the government is carrying out development activities equally across every region of the country in line with its election manifesto.

“The current government does not consider who voted for it and who did not when implementing development projects,” he told the inauguration ceremony of the renovation and widening of a four-kilometer stretch of the Chanchra–Rajganj GC Road in Sadar Upazila.

Before the national election, Amit had promised to renovate this road.

He said the BNP received comparatively fewer votes in Chanchra Union during the last election.
Despite that, because of the government's people-oriented policies, the first road development project in the area—a four-kilometer road renovation involving around Taka 4 crore has begun in Chanchra Union.

Not only that, the first Family Card distribution in Jashore was also launched in this union, he added.

He also noted that the 500-bed Medical College Hospital in Jashore, recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Tarek Rahman in person, is located in Chanchra Union.

The state minister said that the government is working above party politics, giving priority to protecting the people's basic rights and improving local infrastructure.

Jashore District BNP President Syed Saberul Haque Sabu, Zila Parishad Administrator Delwar Hossain Khokon and Deputy Director of the Local Government Division and Administrator of Jashore Municipality Rafiqul Hasan, Chanchra Union BNP President Rezaul Karim were present, among others.

According to the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), the four-kilometer Chanchra–Rajganj road in Jashore Sadar Upazila is being repaired and widened at a cost of Taka 3.74 crore under the Rural Road Repair and Maintenance Programme.
