DHAKA, July 23, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today visited the Investors Expo organised by the Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) before attending the international conference titled "FICCI FDI Conference 2026: Driving Foreign Investment for Jobs and Prosperity in Bangladesh."
The day-long conference and expo began this morning at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC) in the capital with the aim of accelerating foreign direct investment (FDI) to create jobs and promote economic prosperity in Bangladesh.
During the visit, the prime minister toured different exhibition stalls and exchanged views with representatives of participating local and foreign companies.
According to the organisers, Bangladesh is preparing for its graduation from the Least Developed Country (LDC) category while intensifying efforts to attract greater foreign direct investment. In this context, they said, effective dialogue and stronger collaboration between investors and policymakers have become more important than ever.
The conference and the Investors Expo have been organised to facilitate such engagement and showcase Bangladesh's investment potential to foreign investors.
FICCI President and Berger Paints Bangladesh Managing Director Rupali Haque Chowdhury, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun and foreign investors accompanied the prime minister during the visit.
