BARISHAL, May 28, 2026 (BSS)- Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon has said, peaceful coexistence of all regardless of religion and race must be ensured across the world.

“The whole world is now going through an unstable situation. Wars, conflicts and various crises have grieved the world. Particularly, brutal atrocities are being carried out against Muslims in the Middle East, which is deeply painful. Therefore, on this holy day, we must pray for peaceful coexistence of all people across the world irrespective of religion and race,” he said.

The minister said this after offering Eid-ul-Azha prayers at the South Sarikal Madhyapara Darul Jannat Noor Eidgah ground in Gournadi upazila of the district here this morning.

Swapon said, Eid-ul-Azha is one of the greatest religious festivals of Muslims worldwide. Through this festival, the glory of sacrifice and the spirit of self-surrender are presented before humanity. 

“Eid-ul-Azha inspires us with the values of making the highest sacrifice for the satisfaction of Almighty Allah,” he said.

He said, “On this joyous occasion we seek special prayers so that Almighty Allah inspires us all with the spirit of unity, sacrifice and compassion. At the same time, the almighty grant us the strength to move our country on the path of development and prosperity.”

The minister offered prayers for the peace, progress and prosperity of the country and Muslim Ummah.

Political leaders and people from different walks of life joined the Eid prayers in the venue.
