DHAKA, March 24, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today worked 11 hours at his Cabinet Division office in the Bangladesh Secretariat here on the first working day after Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
Despite the festive atmosphere still prevailing across the country on the occasion of the Eid while many people are yet to join their workplaces, the premier's working from morning to night on the first working day reflected his commitment to state responsibilities above all.
Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman said that the Prime Minister arrived at his Cabinet Division office in the secretariat at 9:01am and left the office at 7:53pm.
After entering office, he said, the premier participated in various important meetings.
At the start of the day, Tarique Rahman held a meeting with Director of the Asia and Pacific Department (APD) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Krishna Srinivasan. Subsequently, he attended a series of crucial meetings.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister took part in an important meeting with the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment.
Later, the premier chaired a major meeting on reducing traffic congestion in the capital city.
"Today's schedule of the Prime Minister was fully packed with courtesy calls, review of various official files and administrative works in the afternoon," Ruman said, adding, "This continuous work from morning to night is not just a description of a day; it carries the message of a statesman's commitment to his country".
