RANGAMATI, March 19, 2026 (BSS) - Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Dipen Dewan today said legal action will be taken against those responsible for creating artificial fuel shortages during Eid.

He said this after visiting various petrol pumps in Rangamati to ensure smooth travel for homebound people and to review the fuel supply situation ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

Dipen said currently there is no shortage of fuel anywhere.

He urged passengers and transport drivers to immediately report any problems to the helpline 16107 or the police control room.

The minister said different units of law enforcement agencies—such as the police control room, RAB control room, and vigilance teams—are active round the clock to ensure passenger services.

He called upon passengers to quickly file complaints if they are charged more than the fixed fares at any terminal.

Mentioning that the government, law enforcement agencies, bus owners, and workers' organizations are working in coordination to ensure a smooth Eid journey, the minister urged pump owners not to harass ordinary people in pursuit of profit.

During the visit, the minister’s Personal Secretary Rabindra Chakma, Assistant Private Secretary Md. Alamin, and senior officials of the district police administration were present.
